Edmund BURKE

Reflections on the Revolution in France, and processes some companies in London, relating to this event, in the form of a letter which had been sent first to a young man in Paris. Noted fifth edition, the first French edition, translated shortly after the English original was published in 1790 and has several successive editions with the success of the work. In London, the second edition will be released a week after the first. Cardboard blond contemporary. Back smooth threads. Part of title in black calf. 2 corners bumped. Good copy. Considered by Soboul (historian of the French Revolution) as "The Gospel of the Counter-Revolution", this book E. Burke (1730-1797), English writer and politician provided the most disastrous events of 1789 suites. Burke was indeed outraged events and politics led by the French Revolution, especially as some people saw correspondence with the English Revolution of 1688. The book consists of a series of letters addressed to a friend in France, on the occasion of the Assembly of the League of the Revolution. The importance of this book was crucial because it gave birth, its seriousness and its reflections of political law, thinking and doctrine against Revolutionary. Signed on verso of p.
