First edition, rare illustrated three curious figures including two frontispiece by Gunt (Cohen gives only two engravings for this edition, Guide Book to amateur antique eighteenth); the third shows a giant. Title pages in red and black. one second edition plus several days or a hundred pages will be published in 1759, it is possible that this is not addtion of the hand of the author. Full period calf. Back tooled raised. Part of title and volume number in red morocco. Corners lightly bumped. Red edges. Missing piece volume number of Volume II. These tales, like the Tales Tartar the same author, had great success in their time; the narrative is that of the Arabian Nights, the title Arabian one hour accuses reference. Can be found in stories and notes footer many comments about life, customs, religion and politics of the ancient peoples of Peru, the Incas. Gueulette drew the picturesque details and fund his work in Garcilaso, first Hispanic-American novelist.
