Rare first edition published anonymously, illustrated with a large fold-out map of the thirteen Swiss cantons and five folding plates.
Contemporary binding in full sheepskin, back with five nerves decorated with boxes, wheels and gilded florets, and a red part of title, cold filet coaching boards, all sprinkled edges red. rugged head cap with lack, that of rubbed tail, two blunted corners and a scuff on the first board. A worm gallery padding high volume, another slightly higher from page 207, without missing text.
Ex-dono the time of manuscript on the title page.
David Francis of Wonderful (1652-1712) was secretary and interpreter of the Ambassador of France to Switzerland. Amusemens the baths of Baden are presented in the form of letters, in which fictitious sender recount their experiences - sometimes unusual - Swiss bathroom.
