Please give us as much information as possible on the works you have:

Author, title, and date at the very least, but also please let us know about the book’s condition (but bear in mind that what is a book in “good condition” for you may not be considered such by a collector. Therefore, please give us more precise details, like: corners of covers bumped, handwritten notes to some pages, a page missing, and so on). If you have trouble finding these features, please don’t hesitate to contact us for help!

N.B.: an incomplete set will not be of value. If you have only volumes 1, 2, and 5 of a set, please don’t contact us with it.

Our valuation will always be more precise if you can send us photos of the exterior and interior of the book and perhaps also some details, like the cover, illustrations, inscriptions, and so on.

For a whole collection of books, you can send us a photo of the lot to give us a general idea of the quality of the collection, or send us a list of the books if you have no photo. Our experts may then contact you to ask – if necessary – for photos of specific works.

Please don’t forget to let us know what you need the valuation for: whether you’d like to sell, if you need a written valuation for insurance purposes, or just want a valuation for your personal use.

Processing your query

Our experts will respond to your query as quickly as possible. Nonetheless, we do receive a large volume of demands, so please allow 15 days after submitting your query before contacting us to check on its progress.

Our experts will often contact you to ask for clarification, more photos, or ask you to come by the bookshop with your item(s) in order to provide you with the best valuation possible. Our experts can come to you to value big collections, but have first to establish by telephone or email the nature of the collection. Our valuations are always free and without obligation, in accordance with the general practice of the antiquarian book trade.

Our valuation may be accompanied in some cases by an offer to buy (not an offer to sell on commission). Purchases (from people who have attained the age of majority) will be settled by cheque, on presentation of I.D. In accordance with the provisions of articles 121-125 of the Consumer Code (Code de la consommation).
The seller may change their mind within 14 days.

Good to know...

When it comes to valuing your book(s), you mustn’t believe everything you find on the internet. The most important thing to remember is that when you’re searching on the net, the books you’ll find are those that are offered for sale but have not been sold. A book priced at 4,000 EUR won’t necessarily sell at that price…On the other hand, your book may have features that will make it more valuable than the copies on the net (an autograph inscription, a signed binding, manuscript corrections by the author, etc).

Prices depend on the importance of the work, its rarity, and condition, but also collecting trends and a number of other bibliographical factors.

For a speedy valuation, you can also bring any items
straight to the bookshop for a valuation
from Monday to Friday from 15:00 to 19:00
(no appointment necessary).
