Binding full vellum flexible of time. Jansenist smooth back with black pen long title. Stains and soiling. A lack of leather on the lower plate, 2cm on one.
Ex libris engraved with the arms of the XIX AG Du Plessis. Second ex libris with arms of the twentieth: P. de la Morandière.
According to Lelong, Historical Library of France (No. 28876), the Princes of the Empire were alarmed by this book and made complaints. The council of the king, in order to dispel their fears, thought it expedient to order the author to be sent to the Bastille, where it was well treated, and visited by the most distinguished persons of the kingdom, and soon set at liberty. .
