First edition illustrated with a border by Mounet and engraved by Prevost, a board containing several figures of armillary sphere and 36 cards enhanced in color on double page. Engraved table. In fine catalog of Lattré Engraver. The majority of the cards are the work of Bonne and Rigobert, but there are some contributions from Janvier and Rizzi-Zannoni (most are dated between 1761 and 1764).
Binding full brown marbled vintage brown sheepskin. Smooth back nicely adorned with irons and lyre wheels adorned with ornaments. title label redone. Headdresses and bits skillfully restored. Scratches on the boards. Freckles in the margins. 4 wormholes crossing the cards in the lower part. 3 red spots on Russia in the map of Europe.
Apart from European maps, there are three Asian, three African, four Americas, one of the twelve tribes of Israel and one of the Holy Land. Important atlas compiled by the best cartographers of the eighteenth and which gives an exact record of the world around 1760.
