Second edition partly original and increased 80 letters, two volumes more than the first edition from 1738 published in 4 volumes; illustrated with a frontispiece portrait by Van Pee. Title pages in red and black. Good impression. Half brown sheepskin with small posterior corners, around 1800. spine smooth decorated with a central floret and casters. Part of title in light green calf and volume number rose veal. boards with various frictions. Pretty decorative series. Cabalistic letters are one of the jewels of journalistic activity d'Argens; its varied writing excels in this climate on the border of philosophy, pamphlet and journalistic criticism; As with other collections of letters, they appear in contemporaryicals in the Universal Gazetteer.
