First edition, very well illustrated with 219 ornaments, letterhead, culs-de-lampe and initials, a full-length portrait of Clement XI, a large vignette with weapons on the back of sheet 7, 3 boards in fine two of which were unfolding, one of the tomb of Clement XI, another of his mortal epitaph, a third with a sonnet by Francesco Maria Gasparri on the holy sepulcher of Clement XI. The realization of the portrait, lettrines and lettered headings are the work of L. Ghezzius, some of Giffart.
Exemplary with the great arms of Clement XI struck on the boards.
Binding in plain granite brown contemporary sheepskin. Back with ornate nerves. title label of brown sheepskin. boards struck with arms. Holes and galleries of worms in the margin of some leaflets, some crossing a good part of the volume, without attacking the text.
