The feasts of the eve of the kings, or the bean and Roy-Boit, the eve of the epiphany, where one banquetait the cries of the King drinks, are very old and are still present today in the form popular galette des rois. Theologian Jean Deslyon goes into this crusading work against these pagan festivals, seeking to prove that the day before Lent was fasting, and that these pagan hints and unbridled customs would come to us from the Romans and the Saturnalia.
