Rare first edition, and only edition of this book. Illustrated with numerous tables, a large folding plate depicting the genealogy emblazoned Desplanques, figures blazon in-text and notable feature of this book, 15 medallion portraits "in physionotrace" (process invented by Louis Christian and developed by Edme Quenedey in the kind of engraving wash which left their signatures on portraits with the date and place of realization). Note also the presence of an additional 4 pages with a board emblazoned on blue end paper. Half sheepskin blond slightly later. Smooth back decorated with 4 irons and rollers. Gilt. Head with a tear missing. Restoration sheets 3 and 4 margin, due to wetness. Outer and lower edges with snags. Bookplate weapons nineteenth: library of the castle of Plessis-Brion.
