Louise Félicité de KERALIO Histoire d'Elisabeth, reine d'Angleterre

Louise Félicité de KERALIO

Histoire d'Elisabeth, reine d'Angleterre

Chez l'auteur, à Paris 1786 - 1788, in-8 (13x20cm), (4) cviij ; 482pp. (2) et (4) 546pp. et (4) 563pp. (1) et (4) 671pp. et (4) 501pp. (2), 5 volumes reliés.

First edition, illustrated with a portrait of Thomas Wander Werff engraved frontispiece. The five volumes are published from 1786 to 1788 for the last containing the vouchers.
Bound in full marbled sheepskin of time. Back smooth decorated with four irons and nets. Part of title and volume number of red morocco. Framing frieze on the dishes. Head cover of Volume 1 torn off. Tail Hat Volume I threadbare in part. Lack head of Volume 4. Tail Hat Volume 3 torn. 6 corners bumped. Together satisafaisant.
One can not appreciate this great historical work, well-documented, and very seriously, without taking into account the special characteristics of the offender; which was an early feminist, the first woman in charge of a newspaper editor, politician and writer wife, Louise welcomed Keralio did not choose the emblematic figure of Elizabeth and Essex at random, this monarch in her bearing the same masculine virtues as the strongest sovereigns.
