First separate edition, rare, 6 figures illustrated leaflets and a table, missing card and figure. The copy was riddled with a frontispiece of travel in Siberia which history and description of Kamchatka was the second part and the first of which was the Abbe Chappe; all appeared in 1768. Half calf blond ca 1920. Jansenist Back to nerves. Good copy. The peninsula of Kamchatka is a volcanic peninsula to the far east of Russia, 1200 km long. She was visited by Russian explorers and settlers as early as 1600 were not slow to settle. Informative narrative tale in detail the people, their manners and customs, the second part of the first volume is devoted to the geographical description; the second volume relates the harshness of the climate, the characteristics of this volcanic land prone to earthquakes, the flora and fauna as well as trade and economy of the peninsula and its history. The narrative journey is very succinct but gives pride to all kinds of descriptions and testimonies in a neutral and almost administrative style.
