Anne ROBERT

Quatre livres des arrests et choses jugees par la court. Oeuvre composé en latin par M. Anne Robert, advocat en la court de parlement de Paris. Mis en françois par M.G.M.D.R. advocat en ladicte court

Chez Claude Rigaud, à Paris 1611, in 4 (24x16cm), relié.

Original edition. Rare. 1 copy to the BN in France, 1 in Paris-Cujas and the library of Reims but nothing in the British Library and England. Absent in Brunet.
Bound in full calf fawn period. Back with nerves decorated with florets 3. Laurel wreath on medallion dishes with the initials MG center, mentoring net. Used binding. Casing head awkwardly reconstituted brown sheepskin. Tail box wearing a torn and glued upper jaw. Slashes on the dishes. A blunt, bare corner. Yellowed paper. Some bites scattered.
Translated work by Gabriel Michel La Rochemaillet. Rerum judicatarum libri 4 appeared in 1597 (the oldest traces found in the Scottish BN), the Rerum also was published in 1596 by 3 pounds. The Latin edition is apparently not in Scotland, France does not have any more than the British Library. The Harvard Hollis catalog contains a copy of 1596. Coming from a family lawyer, author, lawyer at the Parliament of Paris, knew the peak of his fame in 1580, The collection consists of arguments corresponding to those imposed by Anne Robert and other lawyers in real and exactly dated Affairs (include stops on the date given in the records of Parliament). According to Corbin, 1606, is the first book of this type.
