Reprint of the complete first edition of 4 volumes of 1763 (note that the fourth volume is dated 1763); The natural gradation letter shapes is in first edition, and forms the fifth volume of this set. The figure includes a frontispiece, 6 figures and 4 vignettes title repeated for the Nature; The natural gradation thumbnail contains the same way as the one in the Nature, and 10 figures on the sights of nature, anomalies and human and animal monstrosities.
Title pages in red and black.
Full textured brown sheepskin. Smooth spine decorated. Part of title and volume number in red morocco. Caps head of Volumes I, II and V leveled; caps tail volumes II and V threadbare. Upper jaw of volumes II and IV split leads with missing. A lost piece title of Volume II. Corners bumped. Edges rubbed, some partially stripped. Some foxing to the first pages of volumes II, III and IV. A brown spot on the bottom flat of Volume V. slashes. Still, overall satisfactory appearance.
