First edition, illustrated with 51 folding plates (23 for volume I and 28 for the second, at the end of volumes) on hard paper.
Binding full brown sheepskin contemporary. Back to ornate nerve. title label in red morocco and tomaison in black morocco. Headdresses of Volume II removed. Grip of Volume II split in the lead. 3 blunt corners in volume I and 2 in volume II. Overall, good copy.
A pedagogue and extraordinary demonstrator, Sigaud de la Fond soon followed the courses of Father Nollet (no less famous for his experiments in physics and electricity), to which he succeeded, and quickly established an experimental physics cabinet. His experiments are multiple and engage in many fields, electricity, but also phosporus, the toothpaste recipe, medicine ... Over time, he will devote himself more fully to his cabinet of physics and his experiments but will keep an admired teaching activity throughout Europe.
