First edition, illustrated with a large title vignette representing the Council of Nicea with on the left the bishops and on the other the monks, Christ in the center, levitating on a pulpit; a sticker depicting the last supper on sheet 9; a dead-end sticker depicting a king and monks supporting a banner or cartouche. 2 sieved drop caps.
Binding in full vellum posterior ca 1860. Back to Jansenist nerves. Piece of black morocco title. Petis missing in outer margin on sheet 70; traces of pale yellow wetting on the outer margin from sheet 73 to the end.
