First edition of the first work of the author. Quite rare. Without the frontispiece engraved found rarely present (see editions of the National Library of France) .Plein calf brown antique granite. Back tooled raised. Part of title and volume number in brown morocco. Head cover of Volume II slightly threadbare. Tail cap of Volume I threadbare. Friction. Exemplaire.Histoire good of the city of Reims since Roman Gaul until 1657, a fourth volume was to carry the story until 1757, but never appeared, the author did not pursue this work. The work typically proceeds by chronology; interventions of the author are relevant and illuminate historical events.
