Charles - Irénée CASTEL Annales politiques

Charles - Irénée CASTEL

Annales politiques

S.n., Londres 1758, in-12 (10x17cm), 402pp. et 402pp., 2 volumes reliés.

Second edition, after the original from 1757. Calf Full time. Smooth back decorated. Part of title in red morocco, and volume number in black morocco. Two small snags with gaps on upper cover of Volume I. Good copy. Essay on political events in France since 1658 juqu'a 1739. Considering the bitter criticism against Louis XIV whose Castel considered despotic politics, family Castel preferred a posthumous publication. The book is much more than a political essay, events being only a pretext for the author to establish its own economic and political theories of the Enlightenment. Much of the thought of the author is the happiness of the people. He is the author of the famous "Project for a perpetual peace in Europe" premises of the future Europe (CEE). To locate the character's mind, remember that it was expelled from the French Academy for criticizing how ministers were appointed by the king, when they should be elected by the Board. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate.
