New edition after the original 1570 edition (1572 privilege), summary history of the Counts of Anjou has its own title page. The edition includes a portrait of the author. Although this book was reprinted several times, sixteenth editions are now well uncommon. 4th edition 'of a work which has had great success and is still good to see.' Brunet II, 1612. Full Sheepskin brown first half XIX, back nerves with nets and date line. Copy cropped short. Bernard Girard (1535-1610) was born and died in Bordeaux, after the secretary of François de Noailles and becoming famous as a poet and historian, he was appointed by Charles IX of France in 1571, historian and genealogist the order of saint esptit by Henry III.
