First edition of the French translation, ornate frontispiece of blood unsigned. Translated from English by a Benedictine of the Congregation of St. Maur. Full speckled calf blond at the time. Smooth back casing adorned with jewels and gold, as well as parts of title and volume numbers morocco blond. All red edges. Hat second volume slightly hilly with small lack. Three corners lightly bumped. Two sheets of guards posted in the first two volumes. A small and marginal work to not infringing the text in the first volume. Prophetic and symbolic history of the church based on an exegesis and quotes from The Apocalypse of St. John. Considerations on the seven ages of the Christian church as they appear in the Apocalypse of St. John.
