First edition, illustrated with a carved figure by Roubeau Eisen, a sticker under the same engraved by Massard, and a cul-de-lamp, engraved by Allianet this time. Printing on large paper. Full sheepskin signed early XX Champs. Smooth back Jansenist, with title and golden time. Fillet border on covers. Menus rubs caps. Nice copy. Blin of Sainmore accustomed literary and historical bonds, selected in this work a tragic subject, confronting love and power in the relationship of Gabrielle d'Estrées and Henri IV, he tries to paint the situation kingdom in these troubled times. To the letter is preceded by a preface by the author justifies his work, an epistle in verse Voltaire and a response from the latter.
