Adrien-Michel-Hyacinthe BLIN DE SAINMORE

Lettre de Sapho à Phaon

De l'imprimerie de Sébastien Jorry, à Paris 1766, In 8 (12,5x20,5cm), vj, 7-32p., relié.

First edition, illustrated with a figure engraved by Allianet Plover, a header Eisen and a cul-de-lamp Choffart, engraved by De Longueuil. Smart printing on large paper. Full brown sheepskin early twentieth signed fields. Jansenist smooth back with title and golden time. Menus frotements in caps. Nice copy. Blin of Sainmore composed this letter Sappho after héroïde Ovid on the same subject; Sappho wrote to his lover before going to join. The edition is decorated verses of Sappho translated by Boileau and Blin of Saimore. The composition of these editions of Blin Saimore is very close to those of Dorat to use the same artists to adorn. Bookplate engraved E. Valton. 1880. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate. Contact us for any information!
