Illlustrée first edition, decorated with a portrait of the author by Rigaud etched Daulé, 39 vignettes including 5 bands, 31 tail-lamp including 18 signed by Eisen (against 25 counted by Cohen), engraved by Boucher, Aveline , Delafosse and Tardieu (most unsigned) and 6 beautiful figures for the lectern, unsigned which Cohen says they are Cochin; they were taken from the 1718 edition, but without the embellished frame. Ratings and reviews of St. Mark also appear for the first time in this edition. Beautiful typographical execution.
Full red morocco nineteenth signed Chipot. Back with five nerves decorated boxes, jewels, nets and golden tail dates. boards framed triple nets, dots and gold spandrels and a large central finial. Gilded frame of contreplats lace. All slices browned. Superb copy.
