Second edition reprint of the original published in 1763 by the same publisher. It is illustrated with a frontispiece, a sticker and a cul-de-lamp Eisen, engraved by De Longueuil. Neat printing; Dorat indeed has ruined honing his publications, commander Eisen and engravers what was best ... Demi Chagrin red late nineteenth signed Féchoy. Back tooled raised fillets. Gilt title, date tail. Slight scuff on the lower right corner. Bel exemplaire.A behind this work in verse Dorat is Barnevelt tragedy, written in 1619 by John Fletcher and Phillip Masinger tragic part of the Elizabethan theater. Dorat drew them about it and adapted it to the French mind, as he explains in his preface.
