The preface announces a new translation of the original text, and full of all the chapters, but the passages on religious were censored. Absent from Cohen, who cites only the edition of 1701 in Brussels, with 19 figures Harrewyn.Plein brown calf contemporary. Smooth back adorned with grotesque. part of title in red morocco. Split bits. Top cap slightly threadbare. Coins émoussés.Paru originally in 1554, the Lazarillo is the birth of the Spanish picaresque novel which takes precedence over the romances of chivalry still fashionable in France. Signature policy, the first picaresque novel is about the little people, poverty and the difficulty of living by displaying a sometimes questionable humor.
