Edition elzévirienne, actually printed in Holland paper. Full speckled calf time, back with nerves Jansenist. Piece of laminated paper title at the time. Friction, a bit split along the first two boxes of the upper plate. French writer often worn with pamphlets and satire, Eustache le Noble (1643-1711), Baron de Saint-Georges and Tenelière, was imprisoned in the Conciergerie for fraudulent acts, escaped, then was caught again and banished of France for 9 years, he died poor when he was rich. This dialogue takes place among 19 dialogues or lampoons which were always edited separately, which together Pasquin and Marforio two arlequinesques characters, which appeared anonymously between 1670 and 1691. Later dialogues focus more specifically on the situation and political crises Europe, but the satire is already political, against the monks, the pope and the church, princes, writers ...
