New edition. Bound in half black sheepskin, smooth back with nets and date tail binding nineteenth environment. P.206 noted 106. Printer brands at the griffin. Good condition. Initials and printing in italics. Latin works of Jacques Sannazar, Italian poet and humanist born in Naples (1457-1530). Although he was one of the most read authors of Europe, appreciated for the quality of its versification and clarity, we do more of it than his work in the vernacular holds. It was he who was one of the first to develop the pastoral genre, making the little world in which he lived a sort of mirror of antiquity (so find in Du Bellay, for example).
