Very pretty and very sought after edition, decorated with a title and a frontispiece portrait of the author engraved intaglio.
The copy contains the Consolatio well treated in Volume IX (pp. 229-301) (cf. Brunet, IX, col. 2).
Subsequent full blue morocco bindings. spine Jansenists six nerves just underlined two cold nets. Golden roll on turns and headdresses. Golden lace coaching contreplats. All edges gilt.
Small scratch to Volume III
Beautiful copy, with good margins (H: 123 mm).
