First Edition. Full Sheepskin brown vintage. Back tooled raised. Part of title and volume number in red morocco. 3 corners bumped. Friction and tail cap. Light foxing affecting some leaves in the middle of work. Library ecclesiastical writers was an extensive literature business and the main work of Louis Ellies Dupin (1657-1719), doctor of the Sorbonne and professor of philosophy at the College de France. It records not only the catalog and chronology of works, but also the lives of writers. Its publication began in 1686 and stretched over several years. All forma 68 volumes with supplements. Judgments that covered many writers did it condemn Rome. At the end of his work on the library, the author realized that there was no simple historical and critical apparatus that would, for the first centuries of the church, to understand and apprehend the early writings . There remedied by this supplement in which we find the history of all heresies and cults, Apollinarians, Luciferians, the Manicheans, Pelagians, the Messalians ... but also those of the bishops of Rome and Constantinople Antioch church in the sixth century, Italy, France ... Late work, 120p. time-tables.
