First edition. Full sheepskin marbled late nineteenth century, back nerves, as part black. A portrait and engraved title. Antonio escobar y Mendoza (1589-1669) was born and died in Valladolid, he illustrated his way the Spanish genius of the seventeenth, although it qualifies its orthodox writings. Rector of the Jesuit College in Valladollid, he was considered a brilliant exegesis of the Bible, moral theology was his specialty. This Lyon edition demonstrates once again the close relationship qu'entretenait Lyon with Spain.
