New edition. Privilege in fine gives the date of 1650. A title-frontispiece in a portico with St. Augustine and St. Francis de Sales. The Rules are followed by the Spiritual Directory for the Sisters of the Holy Mary Visitation , with a specific title page.
Binding in plain black morocco contemporary. Mute back with nerves adorned with cold irons. Large frieze framing cold on the boards. Friction. Very nice copy completely adjusted.
Ex libris: house of the ladies of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Poitiers.
The rules for the Sisters of the Visitation are preceded by a long preface by Saint Francis de Sales on the history of women's congregations and rules for nuns.
