Rare second edition of Blaes illustrated 12 boards. Rare edition of Thomas Sydenham, found in European libraries. We do not know if this is the first. Title pages in red and black. Absent Brunet. Calf full time, back with nerves tooled, red morocco title. Friction. This book by Gerard Blaes (1625-1692), physicist, anatomist (he was the founder of comparative anatomy) and Dutch physician who practiced in Amsterdam and was a famous leader, is one of the most famous treatise Teratology , the science of monsters.
