Original French edition. The author wrote this book in Italian and he published in Milan in 1680, he made himself the translation.
Binding in full brown calf. Back with nerves decorated. As an exhibit in brown leather. Head cover skillfully restored and re-gilded. Title Page ascent, and the first warning page. Adhesive discharges between the cover page and the title page. Good fresh paper except on the pages of the Epistle. Nice copy.
The author, a Capuchin monk named Justinian Tours (it will take another pen name) lived a long time in the Middle East, and made many trips in the Turkish provinces. The book proposes to set the table on the decadence of the Turkish Empire and its disorders. If the first chapters of the Mohammedan religion in the discrediting, the entire book addresses topics most diverse manners and customs, but each chapter is a demonstration to reduce the Turks to a godless people as ignorant and immoral .
