New edition, after the first published in the in-4 in 1675, and first in Clousier evidenced by the priviège in fine. Full sheepskin brown time. Back tooled raised. Part of title in brown morocco. Head cap part anquante, wearing a tear in the first box. Shaved tail headdress. It was during his first trip to the Orient that Tavernier, later known as rich diamond merchant and served the king, going 11 months to Constantinople; he also made a second visit to the city during his sixth trip.
