Illustrated edition of an engraved title, a portrait on the frontispiece and 150 plates on vellum.
Publisher's binding in full brown shagreen. Back to nerves decorated with 5 small florets framed with cold irons, rollers in tail and head and on the nerves. Large decorative plate composed of foliage and geometric ornaments on the boards with a large central cartouche, the name of Hogarth in gold on the upper plate, cold on the lower plate. Golden slices. Very fresh copy, with its snakes, sometimes with rare small bites. Some traces of friction, otherwise splendid copy in a rich publisher's binding.
