Edition illustrated with 150 vignettes in text engraved on wood and 24 beautiful inset (including 2 cards) engraved on steel after Morel-Fatio, Tellier, Gigoux, Daubigny, Debon, H. Bellangé and Alfred Johannot. It also contains 8 additional colored engravings, including 2 blazons and 6 costumes, which are not found in the first edition of 1843. The special covers in chromolithography have been preserved.
Binding in full black sheepskin contemporary. Back with nerves adorned with decorated boxes and nets. boards decorated with a series of frames. Very wide and rich interior frieze. Moiré guard paper. Golden slices. Quite rare foxing in the margins on a paper remained white, despite a burnished notebook. The paper of this book is most often scorched and browned, we will appreciate all the more the good overall freshness of this copy. Frictions to some nerves, headdresses and boards. Slit primer at the upper joint at the head on 1cm with friction.
