First edition of this suite of 12 lithographs and a large title vignette by Raffet, mostly signed, with a date, from 1835 to 1838.

Details of the legends under the lithographs: 1. Marche sur Constantine (October 1837); 2. The Arabs signal the approach of the French army; 3. The Army takes position before Constantine; 4. Covered battery (served by Arabs and Turks); 5. Death of General Damrémont (October 12); 6. Assault (the first column is launched on the breach by HRH the Duke of Nemours); 7. Arrival of the 2nd column on the breach, Captain Potier, supported by the Squadron Leader Richepanse, has just been fatally injured (13 Oct); 8. Explosion of the mine prepared by the Arabs (13 Oct); 9. The Captain of genius, Th. Le Blanc, wounded to death in a street in Constantine (13 Oct.); 10. Fight on the Grande Rue; 11. Flight of the Arabs from Constantine; 12. Review after the taking of Constantine.
