Third edition, definitive and partly original as augmented by several notes and a table of contents.
Binding in marbled sheepskin, smooth back adorned with triple gilded nets, monograms and date (Year I) gilded tail tail, title label of black shagreen, marble paper plates, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, red head.
Illustrated book, frontispiece, a portrait of Pierre-Samuel Dupont de Nemours.
The work begins with the poem-dialogue entitled "Oromasis" with its own title page (Oromasis, poem dialogue / The Year One) placed next to the portrait of Dupont de Nemours and is followed by "Principles and research on the Philosophy of the Universe ", text dedicated to his friend Antoine Laurent Lavoisier and his wife.
Our copy is enriched by a long biographical note of five pages about the author by the famous bibliophile Alcide de Beauchesne who has linked to his monogram the book.
