First edition

ALAIN-FOURNIER Le grand Meaulnes

ALAIN-FOURNIER

Le grand Meaulnes

Emile-Paul frères, Paris 1913, 16x20,5cm, broché sous étui et chemise.

first edition, one of the few copies printed on green paper for the author that he was fired as 6 or 10 copies (from the correspondence of Emile Paul), pulling wide the smaller paper before 10 Japan and the Netherlands 20.
Our copy has a green coverage as all other leading copies, with center back the printed words "copy of Holland paper", additional copies on green paper bearing according bibliographers, a single central finial. Note however that the full inventory of various green blankets remains to be established and bibliographers have not particularly noted the peculiarity or the existence of two types of entries: "copy on / Holland paper" in two lines (as this copy) and "copy on Holland paper" on a line (as on the copy of Madame Simone). The badge scarcity of copies of copyright on green paper unfortunately does not allow to rule in this area and the only copy sold past recent years (at Christie's in April 2014) did not include the back cover. Back slightly thinned as frequently and past witnesses.
Our copy is presented in shirt half navy blue morocco, spine with five nerves set with green nets, date and mention "green paper copy" golden tail, marbled paper boards case lined with navy blue morocco, marbled paper boards , inside gray felt, stylish package signed Lavaux.
Precious and rare copy wide-margined of the shortest print on large paper.
