Rare first edition published in Florence. Illustrated boards opposite the title page, depicting a barn with chickens and roosters in the nascent Latin legend Orga (They hold). The book is full of small flying paper manuscripts that fill the gaps in the text, such as many dots in some poems. Half morocco fawn long contemporary grains. Smooth back adorned with jewels and 5 casters. Piece black title. A brown spot on the top plate. Famous anti-French book inspired by the revolutionary terror. Victor Alfieri (1749-1803) was a poet, playwright and philosopher, who was considered the Italian Byron, both cantor and Romanticism steeped in classical culture revolutionized Italian literature. He came to France around 1788 with the Countess of Albany, his wife, the country he called the land of freedom frightened by his excesses and his revolutionary ardor and he retired in 1792 in Florence.
