First edition under this title, published in the complete works of Horace de Saint-Aubin put in order by Emile Regnault. This is the reprint of The Centennial originally published in 1822 under pseudonym .
Bindings with small corners in medium speckled sheepskin, smooth backs adorned with gilt fillets, flat of paper, bindings of the time.
Freckles and wetting on both volumes, short margin copy, a restored leaflet.
Provenance: from the library of Lake Tegern Castle (Tegernsee), property of Prince Charles Theodore of Bavaria (1795-1875). Charles-Theodore of Bavaria, son of the first Bavarian King Maximilian I, was "Generalfeldmarschall" and privy councilor of the King of Bavaria (Stamp "SKHD Carl Prinzen V. Bayern Güter Administration Tegernsee").
Rare copy, of princely origin, in bindings strictly time.
