First edition, rare, illustrated 4 figures drawn and engraved by Gorgy and several pages of music. Full Calf blond contemporary. Back smooth threads. Part of title in red morocco. A snag with the lack upper joint head. Smear on spine and corners. Good copy, fresh. Jean Claude Gorgy (1753-1795), author unknown today had its heyday with this little novel whose Larousse describes the content (it) contains pages endearing, real paintings, fortunately studied a dialogue and, above all, a great sense of honesty. There is reason to believe that there is in many Blançay's own story Gorjy (secretary to the Marquis of Villeurnoy). Gorgy will Paraire then several works in the same tone. His first work was the new sentimental journey, after the famous novel by Sterne.
