First edition illustrated with a title-frontispiece drawn on China and 240 inset on wood by Grandville, on hard paper. The reprints, from 1839, will use the woods in the text and the frontispiece will be printed on plain paper.
Bindings in black half morocco with corners of time. Back with nerves adorned with decorated boxes. Titres and golden tomatoes. Golden slices. Hook on the second nerve of volume 2, with leather flaking on 1cm, same along the upper joint on a few minimeters. Slight traces of friction, especially on boards. foxinges scattered on a paper that remained white. 3 corners a bit dull.
one of the best productions of the artist in the personification of animals.
