Rare first edition of this album including 6 plates drawn and etched by Jean-Emile Laboureur, ours, the personal copy of Jean-Emile Laboureur.
Precious copy of the artist, out of print and unjustified, composed of one of the 20 suites of the 6 engravings in first condition (ours one of the 5 on Japan) as well as one of the 155 suites of these same engravings. third state (ours still one of the 5 on Japan) including the numbering and monogram of engraved Jean-Emile Laboureur.
(Landscape with the farmer / Landscape with the beggar / The cottage at the edge of the sea / The well of the village / The road in the fir trees / The house of the blacksmith).
Pleated back, a small lack at the head of the second board, slight tears in the margins of some sheets at the witnesses.
Illustrated book with a frontispiece on Japan by Charles Leander and drawings in and out of Henri Gaston Darien, Henri Charles Auguste Gounin, Jean-Louis Fernand Fau, Charles Leandre, Théophile Alexandre Steinlen, David Osipovich Widhopff and Adoplhe Willette.
