Bound in full calf caramel, smooth spine tooled double boxes decorated with romantic decorative golden, golden wheels rubbed on the caps and featuring a little lacking in head, joint rubbed and slightly cracked, boards quintuple gilt frames decorated angles, small stains on covers, gilt on cups, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, bookplate Michel Tsoulidès glued on the back of the first flat binding, contemporary binding strips. Many original contributions including those of Gérard de Nerval, "The Death of the wandering Jew" signed Gerard, and the translation of "Legend" of Goethe (unsigned, but similar to "choice of ballads and poems ..." to be published 1840). Also in the first editions: Charles Nodier "From style, especially that of chronic," Prosper Merimee "Vision of Charles XI," Victor Hugo "Lord Byron," Walter Scott "The love of the marvelous" ...
