Binding full marbled sheepskin, back with five nerves set with golden garlands and adorned with gilded boxes decorated with golden floral motifs, golden wheels on the headdresses, framing of triple golden fillets on the boards, golden leaves in spandrels boards, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, framing of a golden lace on the contreplats, gilt fillets on the cups, preserved covers, gilded head, Contemporary binding.
Nice copy pleasantly established.
Precious autograph dedication dated and signed by Henri de Régnier to the actress Lucile Nycot who created the role of Don Juan in this piece assembled by Lugné-Poe at the Théâtre de l'Oeuvre on February 16, 1921: "A miss Lucile Nycot who interprets with talent the Creole beauty of Don Juan, the grateful author, who thanks her and who admires him Henri de Regnier, February 16, 1921. "
Our copy is enriched with annotations, erasures and manuscript additions in pencil or color by Lucile Nycot about the role that was surprisingly devolved to him by Lugne-Poe.
It was indeed by provocation against Henri de Regnier to whom he wanted to show the omnipotence of the modern director against the author that Lugne-Poe attributed the male role of Don Juan the actress Lucile Nycot.
