Edition first edition of Grandville illustration. China flying on a frontispiece and 450 vignettes on wood in-text inset and 5, the four titles of the four trips and literary allegory frontispiece of the record. New translation, biography and literary Jonathan Swift by Walter Scott.
Half glossy blond Calf time. Back with false nerves decorated with three-irons romantic cold, golden threads and wheels. Part of title and volume number chocolate shagreen. Slight traces of friction. A few scattered spots. Some notebooks a little more gray. Good copy overall. "All of this illustration occupies one of the top ranks in the work of Grandville." (Carteret, III, 578).
