First edition, illustrated with 4 charming and delicate comic vignettes header engraved by Charles Eisen Aveline.Plein blue morocco signed Thibaron-Joli the late nineteenth century. Spine ribbed features 5 flowers. Triple gilt border on covers. Large inner lace. gilt edges. Mors and caps and rubbed corners. Bel exemplaire.L'ouvrage contains 4 parts poissard style, style introduced in literature by Vadé that mixes burlesque and tragic and epic as that saucy. For language, Vade is inspired by the language of the suburbs and slums. Having illustrated the fairs of Saint Lawrence and Saint-Germain for his parodies and comic operas, Vadé became highly sought after by Parisian high society.
