VOLTAIRE Contes de Guillaume Vadé

Contes de Guillaume Vadé

S.n., s.l. 1764, in-8 (12x19,5cm), XVI 386pp. (2), relié.

First Edition. A title vignette with various instruments, including marine. Full Calf blond glossy contemporary. Back tooled raised. Part of title in red morocco. Triple Net framework. red edges. A slight hitch in the third box. 2 corners a little blunt, but nice copy, very valuable, and rare in this condition. Guillaume Vade is a fictional character, and the preface to Catherine Vade, his cousin, is also an invention of Voltaire. This edition contains the tales in verse Vadé but Jeannot and Colin and white and black, plus various documents, including the plan's tragedy Hamlet, Address to Welches ... The homonymous with the author of Letters poissardes Jean Joseph Vade was a follow by the publisher to Tales Guillaume Vade, but of board, this result is not Voltaire. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate.
