Wallenstein is a dramatic trilogy. The three parts are Wallenstein's Camp, The Piccolomini and Death of Wallenstein. The trilogy features the generalissimo Albrecht von Wallenstein, Duke of Friedland, chief of the army of Ferdinand II. He chose to forge a secret alliance with the Swedes, and plotting against the Emperor. Unmasked by some officers whose Ottavio Piccolomini, the situation is balanced between pro and anti Wallenstein. He was murdered for wearing shading imperial power. The play is considered one of the largest German parts.
